Coated U-Bolt Clamp without Base is a cold-galvanized carbon steel U-bolt (ASTM A653) with a 1.5 mm HDPE polyethylene coating over the contact area. The coating isolates the pipe from the clamp steel: it prevents abrasion at the clamping point and galvanic coupling between dissimilar metals. Being a thermoplastic, service temperature is limited to -40 to 60 °C.
It is made in 49 pipe and rod combinations: pipe from 1-1/4" to 12" and rod from 1/4" to 3/4", UNC thread. Minimum order is 5 units per size. Working load and tightening torque for each combination are calculated in the technical data sheet — download it from the "View technical sheet" button on this page.

The version with a base adds a high-density polyethylene block under the U-bolt: it separates the pipe from the anchoring surface and spreads the load over it. The version without a base only carries the coating on the U-bolt and is bolted directly to the support.
It isolates the contact between pipe and clamp steel: it prevents abrasion at the clamping point, damps surface vibration and interrupts galvanic coupling between dissimilar metals.
60 °C. The coating is HDPE polyethylene, a thermoplastic, and loses its properties above that temperature. For hot or steam lines use the galvanized or stainless U-bolt without coating.
49 combinations: pipe from 1-1/4" to 12" and rod from 1/4" to 3/4", UNC thread. The size and price table on this page lists every combination with its SKU.
Five units per size.
In the technical data sheet linked on this page ("View technical sheet"): it gives the rod root area, working load in kN and kgf, the recommended torque and the calculation notes for the steel and the polyethylene.

The dimensions, thicknesses, pressures, temperatures and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASME, ASTM, API, MSS, ISO and NTC, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and wall-thickness tolerances (in pipe, typically ±12.5%), surface finish and residual stresses from forming or welding — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: water hammer, vibration, thermal and mechanical fatigue, corrosion and operating overpressures, which can cause the element to fail before its estimated service life.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies upon request the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) issued per the product standard; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever the integrity of the line may compromise the lives of people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
