03Technical description

The brass female-female NPT elbow (B100 series) changes the direction of a threaded line by 90° in water, air, lubrication or auxiliary instrumentation. The type corresponds to Class 125 cast copper alloy threaded fittings per ASME B16.15-2018: 200 psi (13.8 bar) up to 66 °C and 125 psi in saturated steam. The lot covers 1/8" to 1/2".

04Frequently asked questions

What pressure does the brass female-female NPT elbow withstand?

As a Class 125 fitting per ASME B16.15-2018, the type allows 200 psi (13.8 bar) in non-shock water, oil or gas service up to 66 °C, and 125 psi (8.6 bar) in saturated steam up to 204 °C (400 °F).

How does it differ from the B116 street elbow?

The female-female elbow receives two male threads; the B116 street elbow has one male and one female end, saving the intermediate nipple in compact assemblies.

Which sealant should I use on the NPT thread?

PTFE tape or an anaerobic sealant compatible with the fluid, applied on the male thread entering the elbow; the NPT thread seals by taper interference per ASME B1.20.1-2013 (R2018).

What sizes does TECTUL carry?

1/8" and 1/4" per unit, and 3/8" and 1/2" made to order, all with female NPT thread on both ends.

What is the price of the brass female-female NPT elbow?

The price depends on the size and the quantity. TECTUL quotes per unit with the actual fluid and working conditions.
