The 201 stainless steel sheet #4 PE finish is a satin sheet with protective film, intended for interior projects where a stainless steel appearance is required with controlled cost. It is used in furniture, panels, cladding, displays, doors, cabinets, and decorative pieces that will not be subjected to severe corrosive environments. The #4 finish is a directional satin polish, while the PE film protects the visible face during cutting, bending, and transport. Compared with 304 #4 PE sheet, the critical difference is the material: 201 can work in decorative applications and dry environments, but it must not be treated as equivalent to 304 under frequent washing, chemical exposure, or demanding outdoor service. For stainless flat finishes, ASTM A480 is a useful technical reference for nomenclature and general requirements.

201 #4 PE is more cost- and interior-oriented. 304 #4 PE offers better corrosion resistance and is preferred for frequent washing or higher demand.
Define the polishing direction, keep the film during handling, and use mechanical or adhesive fastening compatible with the substrate.
It can be used in low-demand decorative areas; for frequent moisture contact, intensive cleaning, or food applications, 304 should be evaluated.
It protects during fabrication and transport, but it does not replace good handling practices or prevent damage from impacts or strong abrasion.
