The 300 lb threaded malleable iron elbow changes direction in threaded metal lines with a higher pressure demand than Class 150. It is governed by ASME B16.3-2021 (Classes 150 and 300) with NPT thread per ASME B1.20.1-2013 (R2018). In 1/4" to 1", Class 300 allows 2000 psi (13.8 MPa) WOG up to 66 °C. The lot covers 1/4" to 4".

Per ASME B16.3-2021, Class 300 allows 2000 psi (13.8 MPa) WOG from −29 to 66 °C in 1/4"–1" and 1500 psi (10.3 MPa) in 1-1/4"–2"; on saturated steam the class basis is 300 psi (2.07 MPa). For larger lot sizes the standard’s table is confirmed when quoting.
Class 300 is the higher-pressure class of ASME B16.3-2021: it allows 2000 psi WOG up to 66 °C in 1/4"–1", while Class 150 is limited to 300 psi over that same temperature range.
Taper NPT thread per ASME B1.20.1-2013 (R2018), sealing by thread interference with the help of a compatible sealant.
With clean threads and compatible sealant: tighten while holding the body with a second wrench to avoid twisting the line, then leak-test before operating.
