The female copper adapter is a C × FNPT fitting: a solder cup for capillary joining onto copper tube and a female NPT thread that receives male threaded parts. It is made of wrought copper UNS C12200 per ASME B16.22-2021 and is used in water networks and thermal services with ASTM B88 type K, L and M tube.
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Manufacturing standard | ASME B16.22-2021 — wrought copper solder-joint pressure fittings |
| Material | Copper UNS C12200 per ASTM B75 |
| Connections | Solder cup (C) × female NPT thread per ASME B1.20.1-2013 (R2018) |
| Compatible tube | Rigid copper types K, L and M per ASTM B88 |
| Joint execution | Capillary soldering per ASTM B828, with flux per ASTM B813 |
| Lot sizes | 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 2" (12.7 to 50.8 mm nominal) |

The pressure capacity of the soldered joint is not a single value: ASME B16.22-2021 tabulates it by filler alloy, tube diameter and service temperature. For potable water use lead-free filler, for example 95-5 tin-antimony per ASTM B32; lead-bearing alloys are prohibited in potable water systems.

It complies with ASME B16.22-2021, the standard for wrought copper solder-joint pressure fittings, with UNS C12200 material per ASTM B75 and female NPT thread per ASME B1.20.1-2013 (R2018).
The copper coupling joins tube to tube by capillary soldering; the female adapter incorporates a female NPT thread that receives a male threaded part, for example a nipple or a fitting.
Lead-free filler, for example 95-5 tin-antimony per ASTM B32; lead-bearing alloys are prohibited in potable water. The joint is executed per ASTM B828 with flux per ASTM B813.
The price depends on size (1/2" to 2"), quantity and availability. TECTUL quotes per unit and confirms dispatch times before closing the purchase.

The dimensions, thicknesses, pressures, temperatures and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASME, ASTM, API, MSS, ISO and NTC, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and wall-thickness tolerances (in pipe, typically ±12.5%), surface finish and residual stresses from forming or welding — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: water hammer, vibration, thermal and mechanical fatigue, corrosion and operating overpressures, which can cause the element to fail before its estimated service life.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies upon request the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) issued per the product standard; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever the integrity of the line may compromise the lives of people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
