The socket fusion welder (thermofusion machine) is the electric tool that joins thermoplastic pipe and fittings by heat fusion: a heating plate with sockets warms the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting at the same time until both melt and are pushed together, forming a permanent joint with no threads or cement.
