Copper Union is a TECTUL fitting for creating a removable point in copper piping for maintenance of equipment, runs or fittings. It is intended for industrial buyers who need to quickly identify size, connection and function without confusing it with similar references in the same family. Its main material is copper and its key difference is a union body with central nut, unlike a permanent solder copper coupling. When the project requires a dimensional standard, exact material, seal or certification, the selection must be confirmed with the technical data sheet before purchasing. To quote correctly, diameter alone is not enough: provide fluid, temperature if applicable, pipe type, mounting orientation, quantity and whether the point will be fixed, removable, welded, solvent-cemented, threaded or flanged. We do not publish a single maximum pressure because performance depends on the full line design, seals, temperature, joining method, support and commissioning tests.

The price depends on size, material, connection, quantity and availability. At TECTUL we quote using the actual installation data to avoid reference errors.
The union allows the run to be separated by loosening the nut; a conventional copper coupling is permanent and requires cutting or desoldering for disassembly.
Clean, flux and solder the cups before closing the nut; avoid overheating the union gasket or seat.
Send size, quantity, material, connection type, fluid, a photo of the point if it is a replacement and any project standard or requirement.
No. Material, seals, joining method and operating conditions must be validated against the fluid and system temperature.
Yes. TECTUL dispatches to Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla and other cities in Colombia depending on availability and carrier.

The dimensions, thicknesses, pressures, temperatures and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASME, ASTM, API, MSS, ISO and NTC, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and wall-thickness tolerances (in pipe, typically ±12.5%), surface finish and residual stresses from forming or welding — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: water hammer, vibration, thermal and mechanical fatigue, corrosion and operating overpressures, which can cause the element to fail before its estimated service life.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies upon request the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) issued per the product standard; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever the integrity of the line may compromise the lives of people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
