Smooth-inner-wall flexible duct for HVAC, air extraction and ventilation systems in commercial and industrial buildings. Covers 4″ to 50″ (100 to 1270 mm inner diameter), in 10 m rolls. Working temperature range -20 °C to +80 °C. Corrosion- and weather-resistant for outdoor use, with high flexibility for installation in tight spaces. It is a low-pressure air-conveyance product, not for liquid fluids or high-temperature service; the catalog's fiberglass, polyester and silicone ducts cover that higher thermal range on separate sheets.

2. When to use this duct and not the high-temperature ones

This flexible duct covers the general HVAC and ventilation temperature range (-20 °C to +80 °C): air conditioning, bathroom and kitchen air extraction, and ventilation of commercial and industrial spaces. It is not designed for hot process-gas extraction or ovens: for those services, the catalog has dedicated fiberglass duct, polyester duct and silicone duct sheets, formulated for much higher temperatures. Confirm the actual temperature of the air or gas to be conveyed before choosing this reference.

Dimensional range

With diameters from 4″ to 50″ (100 to 1270 mm), it covers everything from single bathroom extraction points to main building HVAC ducts; the table's inner diameter is the selection criterion against the equipment (grille, extractor, air handling unit) to be connected.

3. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is this duct suitable for hot gas extraction from an oven?

No: its upper limit is 80 °C. For hot process gases use the catalog's fiberglass, polyester or silicone duct sheets, formulated for high temperature.

Can it be installed outdoors?

Yes, it is corrosion and weather resistant, per the manufacturer sheet.

What diameters are available?

From 4″ to 50″ (100 to 1270 mm inner diameter), in 10-meter rolls, per the technical data table.

4. Application notes

Feasibility

Confirm the actual temperature of the air/gas to be conveyed: above 80 °C use a high-temperature duct from the catalog.

Installation

Avoid very tight bend radii; the smooth inner wall only reduces pressure loss if the duct is extended, not compressed accordion-style.

Design

Select diameter by required airflow and equipment connection, not only by the existing duct's nominal size.

5. Technical notice and limitation of liability

The pressures, dimensions, weights and other characteristics in this sheet are theoretical calculation values obtained from nominal properties published in the standards cited (ASME B36.10-2022, ASME B31.3-2024, ASTM A106/A106M-19a, ASTM A53/A53M-24, API Spec 5L 46th ed.). They guide selection; they are not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.

The actual behavior of each lot varies with manufacturing — wall tolerance (up to −12.5%), out-of-roundness, residual stresses — and with the raw material — chemical composition within the ranges the standard allows, heat-to-heat differences. To certify a lot, the tests defined by its product standard are required: tensile test, flattening test and hydrostatic test, documented in the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC), which TECTUL supplies upon request; testing of the lot in an independent laboratory can also be arranged.

These values must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever failure of the line may compromise people, property or the environment: in such cases the design belongs to the project's responsible engineer under the applicable code (ASME B31.3, B31.1 or the one governing the installation), with the design temperature, corrosion allowance and load cases of the actual service.
