Hose for automotive air brake systems, under SAE J1402 Type A, with an NBR/SBR inner tube, high-tension polyester textile reinforcement and an NBR/EPDM cover. Covers 1/4″ to 5/8″, in 50 meter rolls, with a 300 psi (20.7 bar) working pressure at every diameter. Service range -25 °C to +75 °C. It is not a power hydraulic hose: it carries compressed air to the brake system, not mechanical working fluid.

The manufacturer sheet declares a nominal B/P of 900 psi (calculated equivalent: 62.1 bar) for all diameters; the source's bar column for B/P repeats the value "20", which matches W/P, not B/P — the psi value is declared as it appears in the source, and the bar value is recalculated by unit conversion, not copied from the inconsistent source figure.

A heavy vehicle's air brake system uses compressed air, not hydraulic fluid, as its actuation medium; SAE J1402 is the specific standard for hoses in this service and requires compatibility with the rapid pressurize/depressurize cycles characteristic of braking, plus ozone and weather resistance from constant chassis exposure. Do not substitute this hose with a generic hydraulic hose of similar pressure rating: J1402 certifies material behavior under the repeated fatigue cycling this service demands, which a hydraulic hose has not necessarily been qualified for.
In dual-circuit installations, many shops color-code by function (red for the rear/service circuit, blue for the front/emergency circuit), though this manufacturer sheet does not declare a fixed color; verify the vehicle manufacturer's standard before installing.
Not recommended: SAE J1402 certifies fatigue resistance under the rapid pressurize/depressurize cycling typical of braking, which a generic hydraulic hose has not necessarily been qualified to withstand.

The pressures, dimensions, weights and other characteristics in this sheet are theoretical calculation values obtained from nominal properties published in the standards cited (ASME B36.10-2022, ASME B31.3-2024, ASTM A106/A106M-19a, ASTM A53/A53M-24, API Spec 5L 46th ed.). The actual behavior of each lot varies with manufacturing — wall tolerance (up to −12.5%), out-of-roundness, residual stresses — and with the raw material — chemical composition within the ranges the standard allows, heat-to-heat differences. To certify a lot, the tests defined by its product standard are required: tensile test, flattening test and hydrostatic test, documented in the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC), which TECTUL supplies upon request; testing of the lot in an independent laboratory can also be arranged.
