Bronze cross, female NPT thread on all four ports — class 125 (B102)

TECTUL · Dispatch across Colombia · Exports to Central & South America

Cross (4-port fitting) in cast brass bronze with female NPT thread on each port, to create a water, compressed-air or lubrication distribution point with up to three branches from a single piece, instead of chaining two tees. Shares material, thread standard and pressure rating with the rest of the class 125 threaded bronze line. The manufacturer does not publish a dedicated dimensional sheet for this reference; exact dimensions are confirmed on quotation.

Unlike the B100, B101, B103, B110, B116, B122 and B124 references in the same line, no manufacturer-specific dimensional sheet was located for the B102 cross; this sheet does not invent length/width/weight values in its absence.

2. Frequently asked questions

Why does this sheet have no dimensional table?

Because no manufacturer-specific dimensional sheet was located for the B102 cross, unlike other references in the same bronze line. No length, width or weight figure is invented: it is confirmed on quotation with the supplier.

When is a cross preferable to two tees?

When the distribution point needs up to three branches from a single inlet axis and installation space is limited. Two tees achieve the same function but with one extra threaded joint and more installed length.

Is the rating the same as the B101 tee's?

Yes, both share material (brass bronze), thread standard (NPT ANSI/ASME B1.20.1) and pressure class (125, ASME B16.15): 200 psi cold and 125 psi saturated steam.

3. Application notes

Feasibility

Suitable for compact water, compressed-air or low-pressure lubrication manifolds with up to three branches. Do not specify without first confirming exact dimensions with the supplier, since no manufacturer dimensional sheet is available.

Installation

Seal all four threads with PTFE tape or a fluid-compatible sealant. Always hold the cross's body when tightening each end, never the adjacent pipe. Verify available space for all four connections before installing, since the cross geometry requires access along two perpendicular axes.

Design

Use 200 psi (13.8 bar) only cold (≤66 °C); for steam, 125 psi. Confirm exact dimensions (port-to-port length, hex width, weight) with the supplier before detailing installation drawings, since no manufacturer dimensional sheet is published for this reference.

4. Technical notice and limitation of liability

The pressures, dimensions, weights and other characteristics in this sheet are theoretical calculation values obtained from nominal properties published in the standards cited (ASME B36.10-2022, ASME B31.3-2024, ASTM A106/A106M-19a, ASTM A53/A53M-24, API Spec 5L 46th ed.). They guide selection; they are not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.

The actual behavior of each lot varies with manufacturing — wall tolerance (up to −12.5%), out-of-roundness, residual stresses — and with the raw material — chemical composition within the ranges the standard allows, heat-to-heat differences. To certify a lot, the tests defined by its product standard are required: tensile test, flattening test and hydrostatic test, documented in the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC), which TECTUL supplies upon request; testing of the lot in an independent laboratory can also be arranged.

These values must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever failure of the line may compromise people, property or the environment: in such cases the design belongs to the project's responsible engineer under the applicable code (ASME B31.3, B31.1 or the one governing the installation), with the design temperature, corrosion allowance and load cases of the actual service.
