Brass bronze bodies of the OD (outer diameter) compression system, which together with a nut (B61) and a ferrule (B60) at each end form a mechanical, weld-free joint for instrumentation, compressed-air or lubrication tube or tubing. The body shape changes with function: union (B62, two ends in a straight line), tee (B64, three ends) and elbow (B65, two ends at 90°). All three share the same compression sealing principle and no manufacturer dimensional sheet was located for any of them.

Important: Before using these data in engineering, design or installation decisions on systems exposed to mechanical, pressure, rupture, fatigue, impact or water-hammer risk, it is essential to read the technical notice and limitation of liability at the end of this sheet.
B62 union (VT-86902) · B64 tee (VT-86903) · B65 elbow (VT-92400) · sold by the unit
| B62 — OD union | Two-end body in a straight line, each end with a compression nut and ferrule |
| B64 — OD tee | Three-end body, for branching a tubing line without reducing diameter |
| B65 — OD elbow | Two-end body at 90°, for changing direction in tubing |
| Material (all three) | Cast brass bronze |
| Sealing | Mechanical, by compressing a ferrule (B60) against the tube as the nut (B61) is tightened at each end — no welding or thread on the tube |
| Typical application | Instrumentation, compressed-air or lubrication tubing |
| Dimensions (tube diameter, length, wrench width, weight) | Confirmed on quotation — no manufacturer dimensional sheet was located for any of the three references |
Unlike the nut (B61) and ferrule (B60) in the same line, which do have a manufacturer dimensional sheet (see the FT-TC-RAC-FERRULA-BRONCE-001 sheet), none was located for the B62, B64 and B65 bodies; this sheet does not invent those figures in their absence.
Confirm with the supplier whether the reference is sold complete (body + nuts + ferrules) or whether these are purchased separately; the catalog documents them as separate references (B60 and B61).
Per the available information, the body does not reduce diameter between its ends; if you need a smaller-diameter branch, check with the supplier whether a reducing version exists.
No manufacturer dimensional sheet was located for any of the three bodies; exact dimensions are confirmed on quotation.
Suitable for instrumentation, compressed-air or lubrication tubing where a weld-free, removable joint is required. Do not specify without first confirming exact dimensions and whether nut and ferrule are included with the supplier.
Insert the tube fully into the body at each end, place the ferrule and hand-thread the nut; tighten with a wrench per the manufacturer's guidance (typically one additional turn from hand-tight). Do not overtighten.
Confirm exact dimensions, compatible tube diameter and pressure rating with the supplier before specifying in a critical instrumentation or compressed-air system.
The pressures, dimensions, weights and other characteristics in this sheet are theoretical calculation values obtained from nominal properties published in the standards cited (ASME B36.10-2022, ASME B31.3-2024, ASTM A106/A106M-19a, ASTM A53/A53M-24, API Spec 5L 46th ed.). They guide selection; they are not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
The actual behavior of each lot varies with manufacturing — wall tolerance (up to −12.5%), out-of-roundness, residual stresses — and with the raw material — chemical composition within the ranges the standard allows, heat-to-heat differences. To certify a lot, the tests defined by its product standard are required: tensile test, flattening test and hydrostatic test, documented in the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC), which TECTUL supplies upon request; testing of the lot in an independent laboratory can also be arranged.
These values must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever failure of the line may compromise people, property or the environment: in such cases the design belongs to the project's responsible engineer under the applicable code (ASME B31.3, B31.1 or the one governing the installation), with the design temperature, corrosion allowance and load cases of the actual service.
