Prestolok push-in bulkhead union — quick-insertion fitting for panel pass-through

TECTUL · Dispatch across Colombia · Exports to Central & South America

Push-in bulkhead union: a fitting with a threaded body and a fixing nut installed into a hole in a panel, cabinet or equipment wall, with push-in ends on both sides to connect pneumatic tube without the line entering through the panel's edge. It is notably heavier than other push-in fittings of the same diameter, due to the additional threaded body and nut. The manufacturer documents 7 diameters, 6 to 12 mm and 1/4″ to 1/2″.

Prestolok push-in bulkhead union — quick-insertion fitting for panel pass-through
Function
Passes through a panel/cabinet with a fixing nut + push-in on both sides
requires a through-hole in the panel of the correct diameter
Diameter range
6, 8, 10, 12 mm · 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″
7 diameters with complete manufacturer table
Reference dimension (3/8″)
L 44.0 mm · 55 g
weight 3–8× higher than a push-in elbow/union/tee of the same diameter due to the threaded body and nut
Materials
Nickel-plated brass threaded body + push-in collet
requires a hole in the panel and a fixing nut on the other side

2. Frequently asked questions

What hole diameter do I need in the panel?

It is not published in the available manufacturer sheet; confirm the recommended drilling diameter for each size with the supplier before machining the panel.

Why does it weigh so much more than a push-in elbow or union of the same diameter?

Because in addition to the body with a push-in collet on both ends, it includes thread and a fixing nut to secure it to the panel — parts the other push-in fittings in this line do not have.

3. Application notes

Feasibility

Suitable for routing a pneumatic line through a panel, cabinet or equipment wall without the tube entering through the edge. Confirm the hole diameter with the supplier before machining.

Installation

Insert the threaded body through the panel hole and tighten the fixing nut on the other side until firmly seated. Insert the tube fully to the stop at each push-in end.

Design

Confirm the hole diameter and maximum compatible panel thickness with the supplier before detailing the machining.

4. Technical notice and limitation of liability

The pressures, dimensions, weights and other characteristics in this sheet are theoretical calculation values obtained from nominal properties published in the standards cited (ASME B36.10-2022, ASME B31.3-2024, ASTM A106/A106M-19a, ASTM A53/A53M-24, API Spec 5L 46th ed.). They guide selection; they are not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.

The actual behavior of each lot varies with manufacturing — wall tolerance (up to −12.5%), out-of-roundness, residual stresses — and with the raw material — chemical composition within the ranges the standard allows, heat-to-heat differences. To certify a lot, the tests defined by its product standard are required: tensile test, flattening test and hydrostatic test, documented in the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC), which TECTUL supplies upon request; testing of the lot in an independent laboratory can also be arranged.

These values must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever failure of the line may compromise people, property or the environment: in such cases the design belongs to the project's responsible engineer under the applicable code (ASME B31.3, B31.1 or the one governing the installation), with the design temperature, corrosion allowance and load cases of the actual service. Before deciding with these data, consult our technical team.
