The rigid grooved coupling joins two grooved pipe ends forming a joint that restricts deflection and keeps the run aligned. Housings are ASTM A536 grade 65-45-12 ductile iron, the gasket is EPDM and the groove follows ANSI/AWWA C606-22. Fire protection networks require components listed to UL 213 and FM 1920 approved.

The rigid one limits movement between pipes and keeps the run aligned; the flexible one allows controlled angular deflection and absorbs small system movements. Both mount on an ANSI/AWWA C606-22 groove.
