The grooved check valve prevents water backflow in fire protection networks and facilitates mechanical installation through grooved ends compatible with couplings. Its ductile iron body and configuration for UL/FM systems make it suitable for discharge lines, pump rooms, supply takeoffs and runs where flow must be maintained in only one direction. Unlike a supervised grooved butterfly valve, it is not used to manually open or close a zone: its function is backflow prevention. It also differs from a grooved gate check valve because selection may vary according to internal design, allowable pressure loss, orientation and required maintenance.
