The flanged carbon steel ball valve class 150 isolates industrial lines with a 90° turn and is removed between flanges for maintenance. In class 150, a carbon steel body of ASTM A216 WCB type allows 285 psig (19.6 bar) at 38 °C and 200 psig (13.8 bar) at 200 °C per ASME B16.34.
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Pressure class | 150 per ASME B16.34 (2025 edition) |
| Pressure at 38 °C (100 °F) | 285 psig (19.6 bar) for material group 1.1 (WCB) |
| Pressure at 200 °C (392 °F) | 200 psig (13.8 bar) |
| Body | Cast carbon steel of ASTM A216 WCB type, usual for the type — confirm lot certificate when quoting |
| Flanges | Dimensions and class per ASME B16.5-2025 |
| Seats and seals | Confirm material when quoting; soft seats can limit temperature before the body does |
| Operation | Lever, quarter turn (90°) |
| Sizes | Confirm available diameters when quoting |

285 psig (19.6 bar) at 38 °C and 200 psig (13.8 bar) at 200 °C for material group 1.1 (ASTM A216 WCB) per ASME B16.34: allowable pressure decreases as temperature rises, and soft seats can limit before the body does.
This page corresponds to a cast carbon steel body of ASTM A216 WCB type, with the ASME B16.34 pressure-temperature table; the class 150 flanged ball valve with an iron body is a different catalog reference with different pressure and temperature limits.
Between flanges per ASME B16.5-2025: align the faces, use a gasket compatible with the fluid and tighten the bolts in a crossed sequence without transferring pipe loads to the body; finish with a leak test.
The price depends on diameter, quantity, seat materials and actuation type. TECTUL quotes with the actual fluid and service temperature.

The dimensions, thicknesses, pressures, temperatures and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASME, ASTM, API, MSS, ISO and NTC, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and wall-thickness tolerances (in pipe, typically ±12.5%), surface finish and residual stresses from forming or welding — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: water hammer, vibration, thermal and mechanical fatigue, corrosion and operating overpressures, which can cause the element to fail before its estimated service life.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies upon request the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) issued per the product standard; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever the integrity of the line may compromise the lives of people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
