The PE to PE ball valve shuts off gas flow in PE-AL-PE multilayer pipe (polyethylene-aluminum-polyethylene) with a quarter turn, connecting on both sides by compression onto the multilayer tube. Lot sizes: 1216, 1418, 1620 and 2025 — equivalent to 1/2", 1/2" supermedia, 3/4" and 1" — plus a 1216 variant with a 1/2" NPT threaded outlet.
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Pipe system | PE-AL-PE multilayer for gas — systems standardized by ISO 17484-1:2014, with maximum operating pressure of 5 bar (500 kPa) |
| Colombian framework | Indoor gas supply installations per NTC 2505 (fourth update) |
| Function | Quarter-turn shutoff (open/closed); it does not regulate pressure |
| Size nomenclature | 1216 = 12 mm inside × 16 mm outside («media»); 1418 = 14 × 18 mm («supermedia»); 1620 = 16 × 20 mm («tres cuartos»); 2025 = 20 × 25 mm («una») |
| Connection | Compression for multilayer tube on both ends; 1216 variant with 1/2" NPT thread per ASME B1.20.1-2013 (R2018) |
| Lot working pressure | Limited by the multilayer system (≤ 5 bar per ISO 17484-1:2014); the value marked on the body is confirmed when quoting |

We dispatch PE to PE ball valves to Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla and all of Colombia. Request a quote via WhatsApp with the multilayer tube size (1216, 1418, 1620 or 2025), gas type and quantity to confirm availability and price.
They are the inside and outside diameters of the multilayer tube in millimeters: 1216 is 12 mm inside and 16 mm outside (commercially «media»), 1418 is 14 × 18 mm («supermedia»), 1620 is 16 × 20 mm («tres cuartos») and 2025 is 20 × 25 mm («una»).
The multilayer system for indoor gas is standardized by ISO 17484-1:2014 up to 5 bar (500 kPa) maximum operating pressure; residential indoor networks work well below that limit. The value marked on the lot body is confirmed when quoting.
The type is used in indoor fuel-gas installations under NTC 2505 (fourth update). The lot reference compatibility with the distributed gas (natural or LPG) and the distributor regulations is confirmed when quoting.
The price is per unit and depends on the size (1216 to 2025), the variant (compression-compression or compression-thread 1/2" NPT) and quantity. TECTUL quotes via WhatsApp with the installed tube size.

The dimensions, thicknesses, pressures, temperatures and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASME, ASTM, API, MSS, ISO and NTC, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and wall-thickness tolerances (in pipe, typically ±12.5%), surface finish and residual stresses from forming or welding — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: water hammer, vibration, thermal and mechanical fatigue, corrosion and operating overpressures, which can cause the element to fail before its estimated service life.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies upon request the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) issued per the product standard; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever the integrity of the line may compromise the lives of people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
