The threaded pedal valve opens the water flow while the pedal is pressed and closes by spring when released: hands never touch the tap in industrial handwash sinks, laboratories and process areas. Stainless steel or bronze body per reference, 1/2" threaded connection, automatic closure.
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Function | Pedal opening and automatic spring closure (normally closed valve, non-manual operation) |
| Body | Stainless steel or bronze, per lot reference — confirm when quoting |
| Connection | 1/2" thread; lot standard confirmed (NPT per ASME B1.20.1-2013 (R2018) is usual) |
| Lot size | 1/2" (2 references: stainless steel and bronze) |
| Sanitary framework | In food plants, Resolution 2674 of 2013 (Colombian Ministry of Health) requires handwash sinks with non-manually operated taps in processing areas |
| Service | Water in handwash sinks, wash basins and washing points; other fluids validated when quoting |
| Working pressure | Not published for the lot — confirm when quoting |

We dispatch threaded pedal valves to Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla and all of Colombia. Request a quote via WhatsApp stating material (stainless steel or bronze), fluid and quantity to confirm availability and price.
It opens while the operator keeps the pedal pressed and closes by spring when released: it is a normally closed, non-manually operated valve. Hands never touch the tap, which is the goal in hygiene-controlled areas.
Because Resolution 2674 of 2013 of the Colombian Ministry of Health requires processing areas to have handwash sinks with non-manually operated taps, to avoid recontaminating hands after washing. The pedal valve meets that requirement without any electrical installation.
Stainless steel for sanitary areas, laboratories and humid environments or aggressive cleaning chemicals; bronze for general water service where the environment does not demand stainless steel. The lot has one reference of each material in 1/2".
The price is per unit in the 1/2" size and depends on the material (stainless steel or bronze) and quantity. TECTUL quotes via WhatsApp with the actual installation point and fluid.

The dimensions, thicknesses, pressures, temperatures and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASME, ASTM, API, MSS, ISO and NTC, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and wall-thickness tolerances (in pipe, typically ±12.5%), surface finish and residual stresses from forming or welding — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: water hammer, vibration, thermal and mechanical fatigue, corrosion and operating overpressures, which can cause the element to fail before its estimated service life.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies upon request the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) issued per the product standard; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever the integrity of the line may compromise the lives of people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
