The 304 stainless steel sheet 2B PE combines AISI 304 stainless steel (UNS S30400 per ASTM A240/A240M), 2B finish, and protective plastic film to reduce scratches during handling, cutting, bending, transport, and installation. It is a practical reference for countertops, covers, cabinets, equipment, panels, doors, trays, and parts where one visible face must arrive clean at assembly. The 2B finish is a cold rolled, annealed, and pickled surface with a final light skin pass on polished rolls — matte and uniform — defined in ASTM A480/A480M, the standard that also governs thickness, width, and flatness tolerances of the flat product. Compared with 304 2B sheet without PE, this version provides temporary protection; compared with 304 #4 PE, it does not have directional satin polish. 304 is selected for its balance of corrosion resistance, weldability, and ease of cleaning in moderate industrial and food environments.

2B PE has a protected uniform matte finish. #4 PE has directional satin polish and is chosen when final appearance is the priority.
Plan cuts, bends, and fastenings to keep the visible face protected. Remove the film at the end or before heat processes.
No. It is temporary protection for transport and fabrication; it must be removed before delivering or putting the part into service.
Yes, it is suitable for visible parts when a matte finish and protection during fabrication are required.
The lot includes thicknesses from 0,60 mm to 1,90 mm in 1219 x 2438, 1219 x 3048, and 1524 x 3048 formats.
ASTM A240/A240M defines the composition and mechanical properties of grade 304, and ASTM A480/A480M defines the 2B finish and the dimensional tolerances of the flat product. The lot quality certificate is supplied on request.

The dimensions, thicknesses, finishes and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASTM, ASME, ISO, NTC and EN, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and thickness tolerances, surface finish and residual stresses from rolling or forming — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: overloads, vibration, mechanical or thermal fatigue, corrosion and operating conditions different from those stated.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) upon request; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever structural integrity may compromise people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
