The 430 stainless steel sheet 2B finish is a ferritic sheet (AISI 430, UNS S43000 per ASTM A240/A240M) with a uniform matte surface for technical fabrication and interior parts. AISI 430 is used in cabinets, panels, trays, backsplashes, cladding, appliance parts, and applications where stainless appearance, acceptable magnetism, and controlled cost are required. It must not be confused with 304 2B: 430 has lower corrosion performance in humid environments, chlorides, or demanding chemical cleaning, but it can be suitable for dry interiors and moderate use. The 2B finish belongs to cold rolled product: annealed and pickled with a final light skin pass on polished rolls, per ASTM A480/A480M, the standard that also governs thickness, width, and flatness tolerances. Compared with 430 2B PE, this reference does not prioritize protective film; compared with 430 #4 PE, it does not offer decorative satin finish.

Both are 430 with 2B finish; the PE version includes plastic film to protect the surface during fabrication and transport.
It can be cut, bent, and fastened according to design. It is advisable to protect the surface if it will remain visible and avoid ferrous contamination.
Not always. 430 is useful for interiors and controlled cost; 304 is preferred when there is greater corrosion risk or frequent washing.
Yes, 430 is ferritic and normally magnetic.
It is available in 0,90 mm, 1,20 mm, 1,50 mm, and 3,00 mm, all in 1219 x 2438 format.
ASTM A240/A240M defines the composition and mechanical properties of grade 430, and ASTM A480/A480M defines the 2B finish and the dimensional tolerances of the flat product. The lot quality certificate is supplied on request.

The dimensions, thicknesses, finishes and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASTM, ASME, ISO, NTC and EN, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and thickness tolerances, surface finish and residual stresses from rolling or forming — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: overloads, vibration, mechanical or thermal fatigue, corrosion and operating conditions different from those stated.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) upon request; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever structural integrity may compromise people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
