The 430 stainless steel sheet #4 PE finish is a ferritic sheet with directional satin polish and protective film. It is used in panels, furniture, gastronomy equipment, hoods, interior cladding, doors, and visible parts where a good finish with a favorable cost-performance ratio is required. AISI 430 is ferritic stainless steel, normally magnetic, and does not provide the same corrosion behavior as 304 in humid or chemical environments; for this reason it is mainly recommended for interiors, decorative uses, or moderate exposure. The #4 finish is satin, and the PE film protects during fabrication. Compared with 430 2B PE, this reference differs by final appearance; compared with 304 #4 PE, it differs by metallurgical family and corrosion resistance. ASTM A480 is the technical reference for stainless flat finishes.

430 #4 PE is ferritic, magnetic, and more cost- and interior-oriented. 304 #4 PE better resists humid or demanding washdown environments.
Align the satin direction, keep the film during installation, and avoid tools that scratch or contaminate the surface.
Yes, AISI 430 is ferritic and normally shows magnetic attraction, unlike typical-condition austenitic 304.
It should only be used outdoors if the environment is benign and maintenance is accepted. For higher exposure, 304 should be evaluated.
The lot includes thicknesses from 0,45 mm to 3,00 mm in 1219 x 2438, 1219 x 3048, and 1000 x 3000 formats.

The dimensions, thicknesses, finishes and other characteristics stated in this data sheet are theoretical nominal reference values, compiled from publicly available technical sources: international standards (ASTM, ASME, ISO, NTC and EN, depending on the product) and published engineering literature. They are average approximations intended to guide selection, not a certificate of conformity for any given lot.
Actual values may vary due to conditions inherent to the manufacturing process — dimensional and thickness tolerances, surface finish and residual stresses from rolling or forming — and to factors inherent to the raw material — chemical composition variations within the ranges allowed by the standard, inclusions or heat-to-heat differences. They may also be affected by in-service events not foreseeable at design time: overloads, vibration, mechanical or thermal fatigue, corrosion and operating conditions different from those stated.
To know the certified behavior of a specific lot, TECTUL supplies the manufacturer's mill test certificate (MTC) upon request; for critical applications, laboratory testing of the lot can also be arranged. In the absence of such certification, the data provided here must not be used as the sole criterion in critical or safety applications, or wherever structural integrity may compromise people or property; in such cases, consult our technical team first.
