The Black Oxide UNF Tall Nut is an industrial nut for machinery, mechanical adjustments, fine-pitch rods or studs and industrial maintenance. It is made from black oxide carbon steel and works with UNF thread; where applicable, the reference is related to UNF thread. Its main difference is a tall body with fine UNF pitch for greater coupling length in imperial fasteners. UNF is fine pitch; UNC is coarse pitch. They must be ordered according to the actual thread of the male element.
Clean the thread, confirm diameter and pitch, start threading by hand and tighten with the proper tool according to the torque defined for the assembly.
Take the nominal diameter and pitch of the male thread. In inch threads, distinguish UNC from UNF; in metric, confirm the pitch indicated in millimeters.
