The ASTM A563 Grade DH Galvanized Nut is an industrial nut for steel structures, towers, anchors and installations where the drawing requires ASTM A563 DH. It is made from galvanized carbon steel and works with UNC thread; where applicable, the reference is related to ASTM A563 grade DH. Its main difference is grade DH for structural assemblies specified under ASTM, with galvanized finish for exposure. Clean the thread, confirm diameter and pitch, start threading by hand and tighten with the proper tool according to the torque defined for the assembly.
Take the nominal diameter and pitch of the male thread. In inch threads, distinguish UNC from UNF; in metric, confirm the pitch indicated in millimeters.
It depends on the material and coating. Stainless steel and hot-dip galvanized finishes better resist exposure; zinc plated, black or black oxide finishes are recommended for protected environments.
