The UNF Pinar Nut is an industrial nut for industrial replacement, machinery and applications where the pinar geometry must match the original spare part. It is made from carbon steel and works with UNF thread; where applicable, the reference is related to UNF thread. Its main difference is the pinar format with fine pitch for assemblies that specify imperial UNF thread. To buy without errors, the critical data is not only the diameter: the pitch, thread series and grade or material of the bolt, stud or threaded rod must also match. UNF has fine pitch and UNC has coarse pitch. Order the reference according to the thread on the existing stud or bolt.
Clean the thread, confirm diameter and pitch, start threading by hand and tighten with the proper tool according to the torque defined for the assembly.
Take the nominal diameter and pitch of the male thread. In inch threads, distinguish UNC from UNF; in metric, confirm the pitch indicated in millimeters.
It depends on the material and coating. Stainless steel and hot-dip galvanized finishes better resist exposure; zinc plated, black or black oxide finishes are recommended for protected environments.
