01Technical description

Welding cable is an extra-flexible single-conductor copper cable, Class K stranding (30 AWG strands) with EPDM insulation rated 600 V, per UL 1276 and SAE J1127, for −40 to +105 °C. It spans 2 AWG to 4/0 AWG for welding circuits, electrode holders and work leads.

The welding cable is an extra-flexible conductor for welding equipment, ground clamp and electrode holders. The lot records gauges from 2 AWG to 4/0 AWG and an abrasion-resistant jacket. Its value lies in flexibility, ease of handling in the workshop and ability to withstand repeated movement in welding circuits, always with suitable connectors and length defined by the process. Selection must not be made only by price: equipment amperage, duty cycle, distance to the welding point, voltage drop, temperature and terminal condition are involved. It differs from 3x and 4x rubber-sheathed cable because it is normally used as an individual flexible conductor for welding, not as a multi-conductor cord for general supply.

Use recommendations

  • Select gauge based on amperage, duty cycle and actual circuit length.
  • Use terminals, quick connectors and electrode holders compatible with the quoted gauge.
  • Avoid loose splices, burned insulation or contact between the cable and hot parts.
  • Coil and store without severe bends to preserve flexibility and jacket.

We dispatch to Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla and all of Colombia. Request a quote via WhatsApp for welding cable with gauge, length, equipment type, required connectors and delivery city.

Welding cable certified to UL 1276 (600 V) with Class K conductor of fine 30 AWG strands, giving the flexibility to drag the holder without fatiguing the copper. Size is chosen by machine amperage, duty cycle and total electrode-plus-work lead length (manufacturer guides).

02Frequently asked questions

What is the price of welding cable?

The price depends on gauge, length, jacket, connectors and availability. TECTUL quotes via WhatsApp without publishing generic values.

What gauges are handled for this cable?

The lot records gauges from 2 AWG to 4/0 AWG. Final availability is confirmed when quoting.

How is it different from rubber-sheathed cable?

Welding cable is extra-flexible and is used as a welding conductor. 3x/4x rubber-sheathed cable is multi-conductor for equipment supply.

Is it suitable for electrode holders and ground clamp?

Yes, it is a typical application when gauge, terminals and length are selected according to the equipment and job.

How is it mounted on the equipment?

It must be crimped or fixed with a compatible terminal, without loose strands, without mechanical tension at the connection and with complete insulation in energized areas.

What data should I send for a quote?

Gauge, meters, welding machine type, working amperage, whether connectors are required and delivery city.

Why is welding cable Class K?

Because Class K stranding uses 30 AWG strands, far finer than a standard power cable's, giving the flexibility and flex-life needed to drag electrode and work leads around a jobsite.

How is welding cable sized?

By the machine's maximum amperage, its duty cycle and the total circuit length (electrode lead plus work lead): longer runs move up in size to limit voltage drop at the arc.
