The DIN 472 internal circlip is a retaining ring for housings, sleeves, bushings or machined bores. It is compressed with pliers to introduce it into the internal groove and, when it recovers its shape, creates a bearing shoulder that limits axial movement of bearings, seals or components mounted inside a housing. At TECTUL it is sold by unit in carbon steel, with actual sizes from 6MM to 30MM for this product. Its difference from the DIN 471 circlip is the working direction: DIN 472 is installed inside an internal diameter; DIN 471 is installed on a shaft. Before quoting, confirm whether the size corresponds to the housing and not the shaft.

Installation recommendations

• Use internal circlip pliers, compressing the ring only as much as needed to enter the housing.
• Clean the groove before mounting; burrs or dirt prevent complete seating.
• Visually confirm that the entire perimeter is inside the groove.
• Do not sand or cut the ring to adjust an incorrect size.
• Check that the retained component bears against the ring without eccentric loading.
