03Technical description

The DIN 6799 circlip is an E-type retaining clip for radial mounting on shafts or pins with a groove. Unlike DIN 471 and DIN 472 rings, it is not installed by opening or closing lugs with axial pliers; it is pushed laterally until it snaps into the groove. This makes it useful in compact assemblies, pins, linkages and mechanisms where frontal access is limited. At TECTUL it is offered in carbon steel, by unit, with actual sizes from 1.2MM to 24MM. To select correctly, confirm shaft or pin diameter, groove geometry, lateral mounting space and axial load expected by the equipment design.

Installation recommendations

  • Install by pushing radially and aligned with the shaft or pin groove.
  • Do not open the clip like a DIN 471; it can lose fit and retention capacity.
  • Verify that the E-type legs embrace the groove without sitting on burrs.
  • Use a push tool or applicator when access is reduced.
  • Replace the clip if it deforms, opens or loses pressure on the groove.

04Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the DIN 6799 type E circlip?

The price is defined by size and quantity. TECTUL quotes by unit and validates availability for national dispatch.

How does it differ from the DIN 471 circlip?

The DIN 6799 type E mounts radially on the groove. DIN 471 mounts axially on a shaft using external circlip pliers.

How is a DIN 6799 circlip installed?

It is aligned with the shaft or pin groove and pushed laterally until it snaps in; it should not be opened like a lugged ring.

What sizes does this product have?

The actual available sizes are 1.2MM, 2.3MM, 4MM, 5MM, 6MM, 7MM, 8MM, 9MM, 10MM, 12MM, 15MM, 19MM and 24MM.

Can it be used for pins?

Yes, when the pin has a compatible groove and the design uses an E-type radial clip for axial retention.

What material is it made of?

This lot is registered in carbon steel and is sold by unit.
